Kenn Kotara's Barbe espagnole (“Spanish beard,” or Spanish moss) installations present a complete experience, incorporating both two-dimensional works in acrylic and pastel on paper, canvas, and wood with three-dimensional, suspended screen structures. These abstract expressions of the curly-leafed plant so prevalent in the Deep South of his birth enable the gothic beauty of Spanish moss to be enjoyed around the world.
