Drawing
Drawing is a time-honored tradition of noting by hand what the mind perceives through quick, gestural marks made on an extremely receptive substrate. This practice reinforces a point of view that immersing oneself fully in one’s creative process is to accept that some mystery lies just around the bend. The fascination with drawing is the unknown, and the willingness to move toward it. The images on these substrates are evolved through a meticulous process of repeatedly applying strata to develop the image. The effects of mixed media – pastel, pencil, charcoal, ink and acrylic – is scrutinized individually and collectively during the image’s evolution.
