barbe espagnole 55, 2012, mixed media on canvas, 96×60 inches. Collection of Asheville Art Museum
Geometric contemporary art utilizing geometry in its curvilinear composition. Based on Spanish moss, the mixed media artwork conveys its mystery through thin layers of rubbing, washes and drips, depicting a Southern sense of light. The picture is built up on a grid using pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, ink and acrylic in black and white abstract art. Braille dots add to sense of space and depth.
